MAP CDS is a subsidiary of Chamness Care, Inc. We offer functional skills and training through repetitive learning activities and related support services to adults with intellectual disabilities. Transportation is provided to and from the center via local Shawnee Mass Transit.
Program participants experience a broad range of activities to address their individual goals. Activities include vocational training, work orientation, paid work experiences, skills training, health and mind enrichment, activities and case management services. CDS Programs are funded by the Department of Human Services.
We serve an array of people. Some who live in CILAS, in their own homes via home-based programs as well as community private pay individuals.
The center is colorful with themed classrooms. The building itself is composed of classrooms, dining area, recreation area/gym with basketball court, production area, first-aid room, kitchen, café, snack bar, art studio, Tech lab, and offices comprising 30,000 square feet of space. Map has an outdoor pavilion and garden area as well.
Map has innovated learning areas in our Tech lab as well as Art studio. Real life experiences and training takes place in our Hair & Nail Salon. People Can learn to cook in our Life Skills kitchen or work in a paid position in BB’s Café or on a janitorial team. Direct Care along with QIDP’s are on site to assist & supervise.
Our geographical coverage includes the following Counties in Southern Illinois: Pulaski, Union, Alexander, Massac, & Johnson.
